WrestleMania 33 Main Card Results

WrestleMania 33 emanated from the Orlando Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL on the WWE Network. We saw Universal Champion Goldberg defend his title against Brock Lesnar, WWE Champion Bray Wyatt facing Randy Orton, Roman Reigns going up against The Undertaker for the rule of the yard and more.

The New Day came out in Final Fantasy-inspired gear to open the show.

AJ Styles defeated Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon, AJ Styles (WWE WrestleMania)

Shane had a fantastic showing. There were many classic Shane spots. He even did an Angle Slam. Ultimately, Styles got the better of him by outsmarting the SmackDown Commissioner multiple times. They presented a great traditional match which turned into an even better match after the referee Mike Chioda was knocked out by a stiff kick from Styles. AJ hit Shane with the Phenomenal Forearm to win the match.

United States Championship: Kevin Owens defeated Chris Jericho (c)

Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho (WWE WrestleMania 33)

Jericho came out with a sparkling scarf and a giant “List of Jericho”. The match itself featured even offense from both Superstars. After a Pop-up Powerbomb on the apron, Owens was able to pin Jericho for the win to celebrate KO-Mania 2 with a win.

Raw Women’s Championship Fatal Four-Way Match: Bayley (c) defeated Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks and Nia Jax

Nia Jax, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, Bayley (WWE WrestleMania 33)

Jax was eliminated early on after multiple triple teaming from the other three women. Sasha Banks was eliminated after getting her head bounced off of an “exposed” turnbuckle. Bayley was able to have a good one-on-one action versus Charlotte. Bayley pinned Charlotte to retain her championship.

Raw Tag Team Championship Fatal Four-Way Ladder Match: Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy defeated Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (c), Sheamus & Cesaro and Enzo Amore & Big Cass

Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy (WWE WrestleMania 33)

The New Day came out before the match started to announce that a fourth team was added to the match. Out came The Hardys! They made full use of the ladders in the entire match. There were fun spots all over. Jeff jumped off of a ladder onto Cesaro & Sheamus before Matt grabbed the titles for the win. What a return!

John Cena & Nikki Bella defeated The Miz & Maryse

Nikki Bella, John Cena (WWE WrestleMania)

It was a quick match after a few entertaining spots. John proposed to Nikki after the match. She said yes!

Non-Sactioned Match: Seth Rollins defeated Triple H

Seth Rollins, Triple H (WWE WrestleMania)

Triple H came out on a big bike with Stephanie McMahon for an epic entrance. Not to be outdone, Seth Rollins brought out a torch to “set fire” on the ramp and ring. Triple H focused on Rollins’ bad knee throughout the match. The crowd was heavily behind Rollins who has been sick throughout the week too. Different foreign objects were introduced later in the match. Both men took advantage of the non-sanctioned element of the bout. Stephanie McMahon took a clean table bump before Rollins hit Triple H with the Pedigree for the win!

WWE Championship: Randy Orton defeated Bray Wyatt (c)

Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton (WWE WrestleMania)

Bray Wyatt’s epic entrance looked even better in the dark. The match was gimmicked as hell. “Creepy” images were appearing in the ring whenever Randy Orton was about to gain momentum. Bray was hit by a sudden RKO in front of a partially disinterested crowd. Randy Orton was the one who hoisted the title above his head in the end.

Universal Championship: Brock Lesnar defeated Goldberg (c)

Brock Lesnar, Goldberg (WWE WrestleMania)

Goldberg looked to repeat his dominant performance versus Lesnar, but Lesnar had other plans and delivered two German suplexes early on. Goldberg regained momentum and speared Lesnar multiple times, once even through the barricade. In an intense finish to the match, Lesnar put Goldberg through a grand total of 10 German suplexes. The Beast Incarnate delievered the F-5 to Goldberg to become the new Universal Champion.

SmackDown Women’s Championship Six Pack Challenge Match: Naomi defeated Alexa Bliss (c), Becky Lynch, Mickie James, Natalya and Carmella

Naomi (WWE WrestleMania)

The match was very quick and only featured spots that either had all the women involved or one-by-one. Naomi won with a submission hold on Alexa Bliss to a huge pop of her home town crowd.

The New Day came out to announce that there was a record-breaking attendance of 75,245 for WrestleMania 33.

No Holds Barred Match: Roman Reigns defeated The Undertaker

Roman Reigns, The Undertaker (WWE WrestleMania)

The match started off strong with both man showing their brawling skills. Roman Reigns putting The Undertaker through the Spanish announce table was the highlight of the match. From then on, it was all downhill due to Taker’s age and injuries. There was also a big botch in the middle of the match when Reigns was trying to do a Tombstone Piledriver on Taker. Reigns hit Taker with multiple chair shots and delivered many spears to put him down for, presumably, the last three count of The Deadman.

Thank you for joining us in our coverage of WrestleMania 33. See you tomorrow for Monday Night Raw!
